'Welcome' to our living room, hope you enjoy your stay.

Old boyfriend jeans, crisp white shirt, black blazer, diamonds & pop of color.  This is not the pairings for an outfit, but inspiration for our living room.  When we were deciding the elements for our room I literally would print pictures off the computer and tape them to the walls and fireplace to try and get a clearer vision.  I relate to the commercial where the elderly lady literally pins her vacation pictures to her funny!  We wanted a modern yet elegant feel, and had to work with some pieces that we already had, money was an issue.

Old brown mirror from Wal-Mart that I painted with acrylic paint to add color and vintage appeal.

Pop of color and flowers for the mantle.
My wish for above the fireplace is this photo depicting Jesus Christ, by photographer Mark Mabry. Reflections Of Christ

Colorful throw, found at Nordstrom's, that brings together the turquoise, yellow and grey.

Love anything with an x-frame!
We added this buffet for 'something old' appeal, it helps bring character to the room while grounding it also.  For it to function as a media unit we cut out one of the back panels to put the electronics and cords out of sight.

We already had this black leather couch, but if I could I would replace the 'black blazer' for a distressed leather jacket!

My wish couch, so comfy!!  (from Restoration Hardware)

Now, I'm contemplating on painting the walls navy.  I've seen a lot of rooms with this color and really love it...
