Couch to 5k Update and Advice Needed

As promised, here is my update on my goal of getting in shape to run a few 5K's this summer. First off, have I already told you that I don't enjoy running? In case you forgot, I'm reminding you. I really don't enjoy it. I love how I feel when I'm done and I know that it is good for me, but when I'm running I'm usually thinking, "I hate this. How much longer?"

That being said, I am getting more and more in shape each week. Distances that were hard for me when I first started aren't hard for me anymore. The daunting thought of running over 3 miles still causes a little anxiety, but I know I will get there if I keep working at it. My real struggle right now is finding a time when I can run. Anndrea and I were getting up early and running at 6, which worked great for about a week until all of my kids' "Mom Radar" kicked in. Is it just me or do kids just KNOW when mom is awake? Suddenly all of my kids or at least 2 out of 3 were awake when I would try and leave to go running at 6. My hubby leaves for the gym/work at 5:30 a.m., so he isn't around to stay with them. I've taken them in my double stroller a few times, but it isn't a jogging stroller and it makes it really difficult. Sigh. Such is the life of a mom. Hopefully I can get a jogging stroller soon and maybe that will help.

So for all of you out there that workout or run, what is your secret to success? How do you make your workout more enjoyable? Is there a trick to working out or running with your kids? Start sending me your ideas! I would love to hear them!
